Peacock
If Xfinity is including peacock premium ($10.99 per month add supported) with my 2gig internet, then why do I have to pay an additional $16.99 per month to upgrade to peacock premium plus instead of the $6.00 difference? I don't want to hear about peacock being a separate company because peacock is a subsidiary of NBC Universal and is owned by Comcast which also owns Xfinity. Additionally, anytime I have tried to upgrade to peacock premium plus it will not let me unless I pay may bill and even when I pay my bill it still will not let me and keeps giving me error messages. If you subscribe to an annual peacock premium plus plan you save $33.89 so, why can't I get even get that? Xfinity has been unwilling to work with me and I haven even complained to the Better Business Bureau and FCC to resolve this however to no avail because Xfinity has been unwilling to work with me and resolve this issue.
I had peacock premium plus and had no issues. In September of 2025, peacock stopped charging me for the premium plus service where I don't have to watch adds. I have tried to upgrade to the no add premium plus to no avail. Additionally, if I sign up for peacock premium plus through the peacock website, I will save $33.89 by paying $169.99 per year or $14.17 per month for an annual subscription instead of paying $203.88 per year at $16.99 per month. I have also asked Comcast to cancel peacock service and have tried to do so on their website to no avail. I recently changed my service plan, and all new plans seem include peacock premium. When I log in to peacock's website to make changes is it directs me to xfinity and the xfinity website will not let me upgrade and give an error message in addition to not subscribe to an annual plan and save $33.89 per year. Why does every plan have to include peacock? Why can't I subscribe to an annual plan and save money? Why can't I manage my account through peacock's website instead of being directed to xfinity's website which seems to be the issue. It has been my experience that if you subscribe to a service through a third party such as Roku and try to modify that plan/subscription you have to cancel that plan and then re-sign up. I have tried to re-sign up for peacock premium plus; however, I am unable to do so because it says my e-mail address is already in use. I have asked Xfinity to offset the cost of by offering the more sports and entertainment package for free however, Xfinity has declined my request. As stated you save $33.89 by subscribing to an annual plan Xfinity has been unwilling to even give any kind of credit even for that. Here is the communications between me and Xfinity in response to a complaint by me to the better business bureau
On February 25, 2026, I communicated with via email and reiterated the resolution previously provided on February 23, 2026. On February 3, 2026, agreed via text message to a 60-month promotional offer for 2 Gig Internet, which is effective through February 9, 2031, after which the retail pricing will apply. The offer also includes a 24-month subscription to Peacock Premium at no charge, effective from February 3, 2026, through February 4, 2028, after which the benefit will be removed. may upgrade the included Peacock Premium subscription to Premium Plus at the standard retail rate set by Peacock. Comcast does not offer Peacock Premium Plus at a promotional or discounted rate with any level of service. Because Peacock is a third-party company that establishes its own pricing, a discounted upgrade is not available for the complimentary subscription.
Regarding the More Sports & Entertainment package, on November 26, 2020, consented to adding this package at the retail rate through xfinity.com. Comcast does not offer promotional rates or discounts for this add-on package. The request for the package at no charge is not justified and is respectfully denied.
I am rejecting this response because:As stated in the complaint if I subscribe to peacock' premium plus annual plan for $169 there is a $33.89 savings as opposed to paying $16.99 per month by upgrading through xfinity. Additionally, if xfinity is providing me with peacock premium a $10.99 per month as part then why can't I pay the $6 difference to upgrade to peacock premium plus so that I don't have to watch adds? In other words, I either have to pay an additional $16.99 per month just so I don't have to watch adds or wait to years until 2028 to subscribe to peacock on my own just so I don't have to watch ads.
What happens if a customer already subscribes to a peacock premium plus annual (with out ads) and then upgrades their internet speed to a gig speed? Is that customer's peacock service downgraded and they have to start watching adds? Will that customer get a refund? What if the customer doesn't want peacock?
Xfinity is using peacock as a tool to attract new customers and or to retain current customers therefore xfinity only cares about making as much money/profit as possible so I believe that's why they will not let me pay the $6 difference to upgrade to peacock premium plus so I don't have to watch adds and instead wants me to pay an additional $16.99 per month to upgrade to peacock premium plus so that I don't have to watch adds because it is an additional $203.88 (or $131.88 if you subtract the $6 per month for twelve months or $72 per year) in revenue as opposed to charging me the difference.
Xfinity has not even addressed the $33.88 savings that I would save by subscribing to an annual plan through peacock's website.
In regard to peacock being a separate or third-party entity that establishes its own pricing, peacock is a subsidiary of NBC Universal which is owned by Comcast which also owns xfinity (xfinity is considered a division).
In regard to the more sports and entertainment package which cost $9.95 per month and asking xfinity to provide this service at no additional charge to offset the $16.99 per month I would have to pay in addition to upgrade to peacock premium plus just so I don't have to watch adds is not unreasonable in my opinion. If you subtract $9.99 from the $16.99 which leaves a $7 difference in xfinity's favor and doesn't completely offset the additional $16.99 that I would have to pay just so that I don't have to watch ads.
It seems as that xfinity is all about profit and putting profit over customer service and retaining long time customers all over an add on service which they own just so that a customer does not have to watch adds and would rather get an additional $203.88 in revenue.
On March 12, 2026, a supervisor spoke with and explained that our prior position has not changed. We do not offer upgrade options for Peacock that would only charge the difference in subscription costs. We do not offer a customer service discount to offset the difference in cost for Peacock Premium. We also do not currently have any promotions available for the More Sports & Entertainment package. Alternative options were reviewed with but declined to make any changes.
I was told that I don't need a 2 gig speed internet plan because it was too much speed and that I could downgrade the internet speed to offset the cost so I respectfully declined.
I am rejecting this response because: As stated in my complaint if I subscribe to peacock premium plus annual plan through peacock's website there is a $33.89 discount. Additionally, Comcast is offering peacock premium (add supported) at no additional charge even though I already had a peacock premium plus (add free) subscription and my account was downgraded without my knowledge and consent because peacock or comcast stopped charging me the premiums. Comcast is now stating that I have to down grade my internet speed to take peacock (which I already had before comcast started including it) off of my plan and refuses to take it off. Comcast is refusing to allow me to pay the difference of $6 the difference between the $10.99 peacock premium (add supported) and peacock premium plus (no adds) because comcast only cares about generating revenue and does not want to lose an additional $203.88 in annual revenue. Comcast refuses to acknowledge that peacock and comcast share the same owners. Comcast does not want to make any concessions and wants the customer to make all the concessions and would rather face a class action lawsuit that they will later settle at a much higher cost to them (I am attaching copies of class actions against and or settlement agreements for your review. Comcast is unwilling to even give a $33.89 bill credit which is the difference between the $16.99 per month or $203.88 per year instead of the $14.17 per month or $169.99 per year promotion on peacock’s website. Comcast is also unwilling to help offset the cost by discounting the more sports and entertainment package which is $9.99 and will be a difference of $7 to offset the cost of the peacock premium plus even though I already had peacock premium plus and comcast stopped canceled and downgraded my plan and stopped billing me for the service in September of 2024.
I have tried to upgrade the service through peacock’s website and I am redirected to Comcast/Xfinity’s website. Since Comcast bills in advance there system will not let my upgrade until I pay the bill. Even after I pay the bill, Comcast’s system will not let me upgrade to the peacock premium plus because I get an error message. I have previously complained about this in December of 2024.
