Paying for "technician fee" over phone
The internet stopped working so I called xfinity for support. I got disconnected while on the phone with support. 5 minutes later, received a call from the same guy but thus time on an international line. He said he needed to send a technician but had to charge a $5 fee over the phone since the automatic billing was not working. Is this common practice or was he trying to scam me?

Hello @user_0ogrip. This is in fact NOT common practice and you should ignore this at all costs. We would be more than happy to assist you on here about your internet concerns. Are you still having issues with your internet?

Yes. My internet is still not functioning. There is no contact phone number on the xfinity site or app and it's difficult to get any support on this issue.
