Outage

My internet has been out for going on two days.  I can get no one to respond to when it might be available.  This is horrible customer service.  I called Xfinity first thing the day the internet wasn't working on the phone for an hour with India who of course said it wasn't an ISP problem.  I've since tried to change a modem and my router network only to find out during a new modem install that there is an outage in my area with no response to a live human being. Help!

Oh no, @user_b4d4e1! This is not the experience we want for anyone. You've reached the right team for help. No one likes a service interruption, including us! There may be a variety of reasons for a service interruption. When one is reported our technicians and engineers investigate the cause and work to restore service as quickly as possible. The most effective way to get interruption updates for your area and information about your service is to visit https://www.xfinity.com/support/status or use the Xfinity app. Additionally, you can text OUT to 266278 (COMCST) to check for service interruptions in your area. Data and messaging rates may apply. You can also choose the option to "Text me" with updates to receive a text message update as soon as your Xfinity services are restored, which is an excellent way to say updated. To do this:
1) Sign in to xfinity.com.
2) Click the Account icon (purple icon) and then click Support.
3) Scroll down to Common Solutions and click View Status Center.
4) If you're experiencing an interruption, you'll see a banner at the top of the Status Center and Interruption Map pages.
5) Select the Text me with updates button.
6) Enter your mobile phone number in the field provided and select the Get a Text button.
7) You'll get a confirmation message saying you're signed up to receive a text when your services are restored.

You can also check your eligibility for a credit on the interruption credit request page. If your account meets all requirements for eligibility, including not having reached the maximum credit limit, a credit will be applied automatically. You can also check to see if you are eligible for a credit from a recent interruption by navigating to the Status Center scrolling down to the Tips in case of an interruption section, and clicking the Check eligibility link.
