Outage - Network Improvement

Why would you make network improvements that cause an outage on Monday morning when people are trying to work. The estimated restoration time is after 9 am which puts me 4 hours behind schedule.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Comcast and other utility companies schedule network improvements during morning and daytime hours primarily due to the following:

Technician Availability & Safety: Technical crews typically work day shifts. Working in daylight is necessary for safety when climbing poles or splicing fiber, avoiding the dangers and lower visibility of nighttime work.

Reduced Daytime Usage: Contrary to popular belief, some traffic analytics show that after early morning surges, network demand can drop during early work hours compared to, for example, 3 pm–11 pm peak times.

Operational Constraints: Local construction permits, noise ordinances, and union staff hours often dictate that work must be done during daylight.

You can use the Xfinity app or Xfinity Status Center for updates on the service interruptions in your area.
