Ordered 2Gbps symmetrical fiber service, but can't get that with modem in bridge mode

I recently upgraded my xfinity service to 2Gbps symmetrical fiber service.  The issue I'm having is that I need to use my own router due to work issues and need to put my current(XB7) modem in bridge mode.  Obviously, this stops me from being able to use the full speed of my service due to there only being 1 2.5Gbps port and the rest are 1gbps ports.  My local store (and telephone support) tell me they can only give me an XB8 which has the same issues.  Is there someone who can help with me to get the speed I ordered?  From what I can tell I'm not able to just bypass the router entirely like I was with my previous Verizon Fios service.

Hello @atucker75, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially after upgrading to a higher-speed service and not being able to fully take advantage of it due to equipment limitations. When you’re connected wirelessly, what kind of speeds are you seeing?

Sigh, currently my XB7 is in bridge mode, so when I'm connected to my home ubiquity equipment, I can get great speed internal to my network, but the connection out to the internet is limited by the 1gbps port that my router is plugged into on the XB7.  I needed reliable wired connection out to the internet as fast as possible and from what I'm reading, that is not going to be 2Gbps speeds with Xfinity as I guess the XER10 is not capable of bridge mode for some reason as well.  So basically I was sold a speed tier that xfinity is unable to actually provide service for due to their own choices for some reason.  Unless there is either some way to actually get the XER10 and put it into bridge mode, or to connect my own router up to the epon box, I guess I am forced to downgrade to the 1Gbps tier?

@atucker75 it's definitely your choice. The XER10 just is not made for Bridge Mode.
