Opt out of free Peacock

I recently upgraded my Internet service, and it includes Peacock. I do not want Peacock; it has been on my account for years, I have never used it, and have no interest in using it.  I do not want to share my information with them, but apparently, to get the hardware I need to support the internet speeds I want/need, I have to share my information with Peacock. How can I opt out?

user_9s7fw1 Thanks for reaching out! You don't have to take advantage of the free Peacock Premium offer. That is totally your choice. It will only become active if you go through the activation steps.

Thank you for responding but you did not address my concern. Specifically I do not wish to share my data with Peacock and in order to complete the agreement you must agree to it being shared. If I wanted the peacock service and used it then it makes sense that my data would need to be shared. I just want fast reliable internet service. Nothing else.

I completely understand where you are coming from, @user_9s7fw! Nothing would be shared or details with your information shared with Peacock Premium unless you activate the offer with your services. You are able to get new equipment or swap it out, with no worries at all without going through with Peacock Premium offer. Have you attempted to pick up the new device or was it stating with sending out the equipment you had to go through with the offer?

I was talking with one of the Comcast representatives to get the equipment order placed. Part of the process was accepting the terms of service and related agreements. That included consenting to my information being shared with Peacock. In order for the order to be processed, you must consent to the information sharing. I told the rep I was not interested in Peacock and did not want to consent to the sharing of my information. I was informed he could not remove it from the bundle and that I must accept it in order to process the request. Now, no offence, but I do not trust any company, any government, or any person to not share information they have been approved to share. "Trust me, bro" doesn't exactly give me confidence that my information won't be shared, especially when I have no means of checking.

I am willing to pick up the equipment, but the rep still wants me to accept all the terms to place the order. If I go into a store, can I pick one up without having to do that?

user_9s7fw1 The offer includes Peacock which can't be removed even in a store. Although if Peacock has been on the account for years the information is already in their system from the first time. We don't share anything new, and mainly it's including account, device, and billing information, between Xfinity and Peacock for login purposes. For the part of billing information it's just your billing portion related to subscriptions in case you wish to add their "plus" service to your billing with us, but not required to upgrade at any point. Payment information, or anything private like SSN isn't something they require to be shared if that is the concern.
