Only getting 20 mbps of advertised 100 mbps upload speed

Hello. My service was recently upgraded to 100 mbps however I am still only getting 20 mbps, which was my previous max upload speed. I have a Netgear CM600 cable modem which I believe is end of life. Is that preventing me from getting 100 mbps upload?

user_53ea1c - Hello and thank you for choosing Xfinity and for joining us here on the Forums. You'll want to be sure to use a modem from the Next Gen Speed Tier list at the top of this chart to enjoy faster uploads.

The current Next Gen list at https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2024-07-18_Full-List-of-Compatible-Devices.pdf adds the Arris S34. The list is found at the "All Compatible Devices" link near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices. Also see https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/wiki/knowledgebase/next-generation-internet/ for additional requirements for the new upload speeds.

@BruceW @XfinityThomasA Thank you. If i were to rent the xFi Gateway, it looks like that would let me get my full upload speed and give me unlimited data, correct? Can I use the xFi Gateway in bridge mode to my router and still be eligible for unlimited data?

user_53ea1c - Don't mention it! And. An Xfinity Gateway will be good to go. Not only that but comes with another benefit including Xfinity xFi!

I went with xFi complete and I was able to successfully run it in bridge mode to get my full upload speed while using my own router. Thank you!
