Ongoing Issue with Neighbor's Xfinity/comcast Lines on My Property

Hello,

I recently moved into my new home and have had Xfinity come out multiple times. The first visit was to set up my service and run the internet line from the alley to my house. During that visit, I asked the technician about three low-hanging lines from neighboring properties (two from one neighbor, one from another) that are crossing into my backyard. He told me he could only address the work order he was assigned and advised me to call again.

On the second visit, a different technician came out and simply tightened the lines but did not move them out of my yard. I called again and clearly explained that I do not want the lines just tightened — I want them physically shifted so they are no longer over my property. These wires interfere with my backyard plans, which include installing overhead lights and shades.

The third technician called me while he was here. I explained the issue again, and he told me that unless the lines are damaged, Xfinity won’t move them. He even suggested that if I really want them removed, I would need to physically cut the wires myself. I informed him that these lines are on my private property and that Xfinity has no recorded easement on my deed allowing overhead lines across my yard. He repeated that unless the wires are nonfunctional, nothing would be done.

At this point, I’m extremely frustrated. Every time I call, customer service is helpful and understanding of the issue, but the technicians who show up refuse to take action. I’m trying to resolve this reasonably and amicably before I’m forced to switch to AT&T and escalate the matter through the city or other regulatory authorities.

Please advise on how I can get these lines permanently removed from my property.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Marcus_98 Thanks for reaching out! There may not be much that can be done due to local utility right away guidelines. However, we can take a closer look for you, and will respond to your direct message shortly.
