No Xfinity during power outage

We have a generator so power in the house. Unlike other internet providers using fiber optics our internet goes down. Xfinity is supposed to bring out generators to power lines. They don’t do this well and often the gas generators run out of gas. Should I switch to a fiber optics provider which stays alive during power outages.

Hello @user_121ffd During a power outage the power may be powering our plants or nodes that provide the service. The electric company is responsible for restoring the power at that point or any generators for extended power outages.

As for our service we offer a service called Xfinity Pro which includes Storm Ready Wi-Fi. This is a service that will allow the internet to continue working via a cellular connection for a few days while the power company restores power to the area. This service is $15/mo and requires our Xfinity Gateway.
