No loyalty to Existing Customers - Existing customers pay double for internet than new customers!

It is quite frustrating that Xfinity offers internet plans to new customers at half the price existing customers pay. My 1 Gb plan is just over $100 when they advertise a price lock for 5 years at $50 for new customers! When I called Xfinity they kept telling me it is for new customers and new promotions might come out for existing customers and to call back. I guess sticking with a company for over 10 years means nothing. 

Add to the fact that I dropped cable and security recently because the rates were way higher than streaming services and other comparable security monitoring companies. Unfortunately my satisfaction with Xfinity is quite low now.

UPDATE: Someone from Xfinity reached out to look into my account. I appreciate the time the individual took to look into my account.  They acknowledge my decade plus time with Xfinity, but unfortunately told me the same thing I was told over the phone. The rates that are 1/2 what existing customers pay for the same internet speed are for new customers only. If I wanted to cancel my service then come back to Xfinity I would have to be without Xfinity for 90 days to be considered a new customer.
