No longer able to use public Xfinity Hotspots due to being unavailable with my tier of service
I successfully used public Xfinity Hotspots for many months.
Then all of a sudden I started being unable to connect, and when trying the "xfinitywifi" SSID and logging into my account via the captive portal, it presents an error that says:
"Xfinity WiFi is not available with your tier of service"
Of course, I did not change my tier of service. This just spontaneously happened. It may coincide with me contacting an agent here via DM to fix a signal strength issue with my cable modem, but it's hard to understand how that could have somehow resulted in hotspot access being disabled on my plan.
If I try using an xfinity user account associated with another family member's account/plan, I can connect to hotspots just fine. So the issue is not with my device. It's an issue with the configuration of my account/plan.
As an additional data point, when using the Android "Xfinity Wifi Hotspots" app to attempt to view hotspots nearby, after logging into my xfinity account, the app presents an error that says "Authorization Error; Unauthorized Service". This is just when trying to view the map, not even trying to connect to a hotspot.

After an hour on the phone with someone who's supposedly part of their advanced technical team, I was told because I have my own modem and router and do not rent Xfinity equipment, I do not have access to the Xfinity hotspots.
That my ability to access hotspots for the last several years has been a "glitch" in the system.
Never was I informed that using my own equipment meant I could not access hotspots. I think it's another case of Xfinity trying to pull a fast one.
Check it out for yourself. It might be interesting to hear what kind of response you get.

It says "Xfinity WiFi is not available with your tier of service", but that is not true. My tier of service does make me eligible for Xfinity WiFi. I talked to a representative to change my address and now I can no longer get WiFi at hotspots. What did he do and how can I continue to get WiFi hotspots as I did for years before? This is a nightmare and I see no solution online! They said there is a support ticket and I would be contacted in 48 hours. It has been more than 48 hours and I got no response! Please help!
