No internet

My internet Service has been out from 5 PM until 3 AM. The 6th Knicks game is on tonight and I have to use a mobile hotspot to watch it . Verizon has informed me that I will be charged extra for this service. I would like a 50% discount off of my Comcast bill for the next three months due to this inconvenience. I am a longtime customer and have never complained

Doubtful that will happen.  Have you tried removing the power cord from your modem, waiting at least 10 seconds and then plugging it back in?
