No Internet or Cable or Chicago in 60637.

No internet or cable since 9/5/2026. The Xfinity IOS app sent a service outage message and, two hours later, said the problem was resolved; except for me, it wasn't. No available appointments until 9/11/2026. I have tried using the waitlist, but so far, no luck. Most of my neighbors canceled their Xfinity service years ago, so I have no access to open Wi-Fi. My next step is to contact Alderman Taylor about this ongoing issue. 80% of residents in the 20th Ward are Black, and it's also home to the University of Chicago. The University of Chicago never has service interruptions, while my neighborhood is constantly plagued by them. In Woodlawn, there's no option but to switch to 5G. I've been an Xfinity/Comcast customer for 23 years.  Maybe now is the time to switch. At least my bill will be less than the $400 I currently pay. Not to mention that I work at home. At least tethering my AT&T iPhone to my computer helps minimize the impact on my work obligations. It is clear that Xfinity doesn't care, and nothing makes that more apparent than the fact that they have moved all of their customer service to somewhere other than the United States, where the representatives have no ability to help resolve an issue other than to apologize and schedule a service call almost a week after losing internet and cable. :(

@woodlawn_60637 Thanks for adding a post to the forum. Having no service isn't fun, but we're happy to read there's a tech visit scheduled to fix the connection. If something happened in the area, it can result in having to wait on a technician. We understand that can be frustrating, but suggest making sure the wait list has your address in case something sooner pops up. Use this https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/appointment-waitlist page to ensure your location is added. While the connection is fixed, rely on our Xfinity Hotspots with the map here https://www.xfinity.com/learn/mobile/network-coverage. All of our new promotions include a year free of Xfinity Mobile. That can help with having another data source in the home or a mobile hotspot.
