No communication, useless help chat

HORRIBLE COMPANY. We pay 100$ a month for our WiFi and when a storm knocked it out we heard absolutely nothing from xfinity. Never once got an update, never once got an estimate on how long it would take to fix it, and took 0$ off of our bill. We went 3 days without service without hearing a peep from xfinity all while our neighbors with different companies enjoyed their WiFi. Your help chat was useless and didn’t answer any questions. I’m ready to switch to a company that actually communicates with me when the service I pay good money for isn’t available. Absolutely ridiculous

Hello, @user_t1ikxd thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. We're always looking for ways to improve as a company, and getting feedback is crucial for us to know where to implement changes. Working from home myself, I understand the importance of having your home network up and running. When there are service interruptions, we do try and keep up-to-date information on estimated restoral time frames at the status center: https://www.xfinity.com/support/status or Xfinity App. You can sign up to receive text notifications on either platform as well.

Depending on the severity of damage done, it can take some time for our maintenance and constructions experts to get services restored, so did want to help get the proper expectations set up of whey it can take time for repair work. Is your service still being impacted currently?

@XfinityJustinC it’s not the WiFi going out. It’s the 0 communication on your end. Had I not opened the app (after I left home because remember I didn’t have WiFi!) I wouldn’t have even known there was an outage because you guys never emailed me. Never got a notification. There was no time estimate for when it would be fixed. Just radio silence. That is ridiculous. If my WiFi is going to be out for 3 days I expect an email about it.

Right now we do not have options to send out email notifications of an interruption. Any information on those interruptions would be available on the Xfinity app or at the Xfinity.com site. There is an option to set up a text notification on the app during an interruption.
