New Xfinity scam

Apparently there is a scam coming from am [Edited: "Possible malicious number"] - received an urgent call that i will be disconnected - call them back - called them back and got vm initially which seemed as if it was Xfinity -  purporting to be Xfinity offering 50% off current plan for three years.  They then say they will transfer you to billing and that it is a three year plan and will save you 50% off your current fee structure - they then say you have to prepay 20 months of the 36 month plan.

Good evening robert1021. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Did you end up speaking with the caller? If so, did you provide any information to them?

I did call them back as I said, their recording was as if I was calling Xfinity - very authentic "like", however didn't give any personal info.  It was an offshore call center either in India or Pakistan based on the accented English.

The best course of action, in this case, would actually be to report this to our Customer Security Assurance. You can contact them by following this link: https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ or by calling CSA Toll-Free Number: 1-888-565-4329.

Thanks Dena - Xfinity actually has a customer security assurance group/  When this occurred, I called Xfinity as well.  Went thru the litany of questions from you voice activated system, asked for someone from billing bc this was pertaining to a 50% reduction in my bill.  Spoke with one of your billing people, told her of the occurrence etc.  She assured me that no no from Xfinity would ever call to give an offer.  I have advised Xfinity.  I asked her to elevate it within your organization.  Further, Why didnt she recommend this security team?  Ive done enough about this topic.  Comcast is now aware of the issue, thru this forum as well as verbally with your billing people.  I put this out on the forum to alert people of the scam.

The reason I recommend is due to you reaching back out and calling the number. We would want to make sure our CSA team reviews your account to make sure it was not compromised. I am unable to speak to why it was not suggested when you first reached out but if you mentioned you did not provide any personal information it may not have been thought of. It is best to review the account to confirm secured but that is your choice @robert1021 if you would like to reach out. They have access to all the tools to assist you.

Thanks much.  I do not have the time to sit and wait for someone on a call or another medium to respond or be number 20 in line.  I have advised Comcast of the scam thru this forum.  What Comcast does with this info is up to them.  I doubt my account has been compromised
