New xfinity router fan is extremely loud.

Last Sunday we got a new router. It is so loud you can not be in the same room with it.  I am thinking about replacing it and just buying one as this one  so bad.

@user_a510dc Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I would be super concerned if my modem was that loud! I would love to look into this further and see about shipping you a replacement if you would prefer instead of purchasing your own. There are some great benefits to renting our modem, we are able to replace them at no charge if they ever go bad or have issues, you have access to our Xfinity app to have complete control over your in home Wi-Fi. I know I love getting a notification when a new device connects to my internet so I can confirm if it is one of mine, if not I'm able to pause it so it can't use my services.

 

If you decide you would rather purchase your own modem you would want to make sure that you are looking at compatible devices for your internet speeds. To send a direct message you may need to:

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Click the "direct message" icon - when I log in I do not see this icon.
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

The icon would be in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, it would be next to the button that takes you to your profile and looks like an envelope.
