New Xfinity modem, replacing same one that no longer allowed accessed to internet

After some difficulty (several re-starts by Xfinity to get internet back), modem restored internet service but not Xfinity house phone service (no dial tone; calling self from mobile prompts leaving message, but can't access message on house phone).

Oh no! I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the new modem. Did you by any chance make any modifications to your Xfinity Voice plan? 

 

We can double-check here and make sure all features are activated. Sometimes this can be a system error that we can easily assist with here. 

 

To do so just send us a direct message with your full name and service address. Once activated we can return here to update the community on what worked. 

 

To send a direct message: 

  • Make sure you are signed in here in the Xfinity Forum. Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it
