New underground cable replacement cost

My roommate and I just moved into a new apartment and signed up for Xfinity. We bought the router/modem to install ourselves a few days ago but it wasn't working for some reason and we couldn't figure out why (the light just kept blinking yellow instead of white). So we called the Xfinity people over to help install it, and the man who came to fix it said that the cable outside wasn't connected and needed to be replaced (or something like that) and placed a ticket have it (and all the other wires sticking out out there) buried in the next few days.

I'm just curious about how much this would cost? I've been googling everywhere for an answer but no luck. I just don't want any surprise fees to pop up.

Also, since we just moved in I assumed any electrical issues would be my landlord's responsibility since we didn't mess with anything and it was in this state before we moved in. Would this be something I could just get my landlord to figure out or would we have to take it into our own hands (in this case just letting Xfinity take care of it)?

Greetings and congratulations on your new place, Canigetuhbaconegganchees! I am glad to hear the issue is being resolved so you can connect soon. You did a great job explaining what has happened so far. There is a $100 charge for our installation visits. That comes on the statement following your visit. There is no charge for the Drop Line visit. We take care of those at no charge. We would be happy to keep an eye on all of this so you know when that is completed and can activate the modem.
