New Service Availability in Twin Lake, MI

We recently moved to Twin Lake, MI and I've gotten varying answers from support reps about availability of service in our area.

The most recent rep informed me two weeks ago that there was already construction happening in our area and I would be notified by email when it was available, but couldn't give me a date or timeline for construction. (A month before they gave me a dollar amount required to start construction based on a previous survey but I didn't get the details at the time.)

I'm curious if there have been any updates.

Thank you for reaching out @user_50658b. I am sorry to hear everyone has had different answers for you. That can certainly be frustrating. Our team would be happy to investigate your address. I am excited to hear you would like to get Comcast service. Can you send us a private message with your full name, and the complete service address? To send a private message, please click the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner. Click the “notepad and pen” button. Send the full message to our shared support handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

I followed this procedure and was able to submit a request; however, the entire process has been extremely frustrating. Please note that we are in a fairly rural area on a dirt road, but there are clearly houses with Xfinity service about 600ft down the same road with 5-6 houses between them and our house, which has been here for 19 years.

Here's what we've been told (paraphrased) by four separate reps over the span of 2-3 months:

  1. Yes, a survey has been done for this address and there would be a charge of (at least) $5,925 to the customer to reach the property
  2. We are already under construction in the area. You'll receive an email when service is available.
  3. Our survey team has reevaluated this address and it cannot be serviced.
  4. This address appears in our system two times - once with "East" in the address and once without. One of them says it is serviceable and other says it is not. Both appear on the map as the same property. It appears we cannot offer service to you at this time.

We would like to take a look into the request @user_50658b. Can you please send us a DM so we can help?

To send a "Peer to peer" DM message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.

Representatives checked our address more thoroughly and provided a complete response via DM.

Unfortunately we're about 1,400 feet from the existing network and apparently that's just too far. Hopefully Xfinity expands in the future. For now we're making due on Frontier DSL and we're on the waiting list for Starlink.
