New Phone Has a Phone Number Tied to An Account

I just purchased a new phone. I have a new phone number. I go to edit my mobile phone number that is tied to my account. It says the number is already tied to an account. This phone and phone number are new. I would please like to have the old number on the account removed and my new number put in its place. It has been frustrating. Thank you.

That would frustrate me too when trying to make the change myself, but can't. Our Customer Security Assurance team has the tool that will allow them to help you make the change. Given the phone number is tied to account security, they would be the only team that would be able to assist. You can reach them directly at 1 (888) 565-4329 for assistance, and they can get it changed for you no problem.
