New internet was canceled due to fraud?

I signed up for mobile and internet recently. I love the mobile service by the way, especially compared to my previous carrier. So everything seemed to be going well, I received the internet gateway in the mail but when I went to go set it up, I realized that my internet was canceled. I talked to xfinity support through the chat and they said it was canceled due to fraud connected to my address. So he made an appointment for the collections department to call me within 24 hours. It’s been well over that and I haven’t heard anything. I did have comcast in the past but I was not aware of me owing anything from before so i am a bit concerned about that. Is that what they are referring to when they say fraud connected to the address? Is an unpaid balance? Thanks for any help here.

Hi there, @user_93856d. Thank you for reaching out to us via our forums. We appreciate you reaching out and letting us know of your issues. We also appreciate you liking the Mobile service as well. We would definitely recommend reaching out to our billing department directly instead of waiting for a call to assist with this issue. If you are not aware of any balance due or have been contacted by collections about debt, I would also recommend calling our customer service department and having them transfer you to the Customer Security Assurance Team to report it as well.
