New house shows as already connected

I'm trying to get new service at our new address and our address shows as connected while obviously it is not. The previous house at this address that was demolished probably had Xfinity service. The support rep tried to convince me to pay for the "professional installation" which doesn't make sense, all I need is the pole-house connection, nothing done inside the house, and then call again and beg to have that $100 fee waived by explaining the circumstances.

I don't see how that is professional.

@user_jp1105 Hello! Thank you for your addition to the Xfinity Community Forums! To have a technician come out to your home is $100. While they are there, they will do all the work needed to get your service set up. This includes running cable from the nearest tie-in point (up to 300 ft) to your home, installing any required coaxial outlets, and balancing the signal. While they are onsite, they will need access inside the home to guarantee that the service is active.
