user_2c3y14 We appreciate you reaching out to us over our Community Forums. We would be more than happy to help get you pointed in the right direction. Your current Xfinity Gateway may be outdated for the internet speed tier you have. Were you notified by us that you needed an upgrade?
thanks for responding. Yes I was contacted via email for a free upgrade for a faster modem however, my neighbor did the same offer and he thinks he was hacked so I told him I would check with Xfinity to see if the Xfinity really was the company and not a hack job where Xfinity was offering a faster free modem for Xfinity service. Can you confirm that the offer was real
user_2c3y14 Good idea to double check! There are a lot of bad actors that send out phising or scam emails. We can take a look at your account, and see if anything was sent out to you. Please send us a direct message.
To send a "Direct Message" message: • Click "Sign In" if necessary • Click the "Direct Message" icon • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window • Press Enter to send it
