New Construction

I am working with a general contractor to build a new home in Southern New Mexico, in an existing subdivision with larger (around 2.5 acre) lots, served by Xfinity.  The distance from the curb to the house will be significantly greater than 200 feet.  We are now working with plumbing and electrical subs to bring utilities in from the curb.  If it is possible for Xfinity to share one of these trenches (presumably with some separation), we would like to know how to go about that.  I tried calling Xfinity, but the rep I spoke with did not know how to work that out.  All she could do is confirm that the site address is in Xfinity's "system."  She has asked me to go to a local store, where I expect to hear much the same thing.

It seems that others have requested help here on new construction topics and have been asked to submit direct messages.  Is that still an appropriate way to start a dialog over something like this?

user_604523 - Hello, thank you for joining us here on the Forums! Xfinity does not have a general customer-facing phone number specifically for a construction or builder division. For new construction projects, site readiness inquiries, and service installation planning, the best path is to work with the Comcast Business Property Development team, which specializes in coordinating infrastructure and serviceability requirements for new builds and development projects. This specialized team can help determine what is needed to make the property ready for Xfinity services and guide you through the next steps. This is a single family residence.  Are you sure I should be working with the Comcast business team?

user_604523 - That's a great resource to have when building a new home. Xfinity has its own process for new construction projects, site readiness reviews, and service installation planning that is separate from other utility providers. Because of that, there is no need to coordinate or share information through another utility's process—we handle our portion directly through our own channels and procedures. I hope this information helps! Please let us know if a serviceability review has already been submitted, and we'll be happy to help.

I am unaware of what a "serviceability review" is, exactly, but I have not been involved in submitting one nor am I aware of any activity around such a thing.  I have only confirmed with Xfinity customer service that the site address is in Xfinity's records, and I have also confirmed that my immediate neighbors do have Xfinity service.  What is the appropriate next step?

user_604523 - If the address appears when you're searching for services online, that's a great sign—it means the serviceability review has already been completed and the address is in our system. In that case, you should be able to move forward with scheduling an installation.
If you receive an error or the address cannot be found when shopping for services online, a serviceability ticket would be needed to have the address reviewed and added to our system. Once that process is complete and the address is confirmed as serviceable, you'll be able to schedule your installation.
I hope that helps clarify things!

Thank you for reaching back out here, and for the update. On this platform we are all part of the corporate digital care team, and there are not any Bot responses here. That House smart ticket would have been an available option for us to do here as well. If you do have any other questions or concerns with that open ticket we can always answer them from here.
