NEW CONSTRUCTION

We are closing on our house 9/14.  I contacted Comcast few months ago to be prepared for our home to be set with internet upon our move.  (Virtual Learning is required so need this for sure).  I was given a ticket number, when calling back to check the call was bounced all around to everyone who stated they didnt handle that and would transfer me.  Finally, got a guy on the phone who said yeah everything is good you should be installed soon. Sounds great, except I was detecting some inaccuracy.  I called again today and rep informed that prior ticket was closed out and he would escalate and create a new one.  I asked why original one was closed and he said address would need to be registered.  I informed him that this was handled by the county during the permit process.  He could not answer why it closed out and marked completed.  But I did set up a new ticket # in hopes this time it would get resolved.  I stressed the urgency as internet is required for the virtual learning that my children will start next month.  He made comment I should get a call within 24/48 hours.  Any one have experience with this?  And know typical turn around.  Who does the site survey and how do I get that scheduled? Please help!!!

I can't answer all of your questions, but I do want to point out a couple of things.

1.) "registered" means registered with the Post Office.  Your address has to be registered with them in order to receive mail.  Technically, where your house is being built is not a deliverable address - yet.

2.)  Again, a technicality, but you can't request/start service on a place you don't own yet.  Until you close on 9/14 you don't own it to have service started.  An account is tied to both an address and a person.

The minute you get your keys in your hand call Comcast to set up service.  By that time, your address should be registered with the Post Office, so you will break out that one technicality of not having an address.

You still might face some delays, though.  If you need a site survey/serviceability request, that could take some time for an available appointment for someone to come out.  With luck, though, this all might happen extremely quickly for you [keeping my fingers crossed], but I wanted you to be aware of a few things that customers might not know.

Good luck!

I have been trying to get new service from the construction department for a month now...services are on a pole in my parents back yatd 300 yards away from us. Can't get anyone to return my calls, area office personnel can't help je and the person who emailed me to let me know my request was sent to the construction department won't reply either. Apparently I am going to have to move to satellite internet/tv/phone because we cannot continue to wait.

I moved into my house in Nov 18th and I have been having the same issues that you are having except for now they say my address is now serviceable but the construction is not completed yet..

I have also been getting the runaround since Dec 17, 2020 and the the amount of tickets that was escalated to get it taken care of is ridiculous.. I have been hung up on by the representives and it not because I am being irrate or anything they are telling me to hold or transferring me and then they hang up especially when I ask for a supervisor.  The type of service and issues I am having just so I can have internet in my home is sad & ridiculous because I need it for my children to do virtual school and to work from home.
