Good luck fellow person just trying to get internet. I'm going on week 10 of being told different answers by different employees. I've spent about 6 hours on the phone with various folks, have direct chats with the construction team, service agents, and forum employees and have been told everything from "someone will be there yesterday to install your cable" to "it'll be at least 6 months until someone is able to install".
My understanding is that they've gotta work with utility companies (that are also very bureaucratic) to get permits to use their poles, conduits, etc. Folks are extremely reluctant to do anything to hurry along the process and I've gone as far as calling the utility company myself to try to get their cooperation, but they'll only work with Comcast. Aside from the permit, Comcast has a survey, design, and construction team that each have to perform their roles for an undetermined amount of time (I've heard some say it'll take no more than 5 days and others say it'll take 190 days). 10 weeks in and I've heard zero legitimate progress. I guess this is just the nature of dealing with monopolies that have zero incentive for providing worthwhile customer support. New constructions seem like they should be a fairly common thing (every home was initially hooked up at some point), so I don't know why some of us hit such major roadblocks. I've got a forum post outlining my experience: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/poor-customer-service-for-new-construction/6309161a2ff2c66589fd5853. Best of luck to you, hope you're able to get connected soon! At the rate I'm going, I might end up just paying for fiber in the next coupleonths when it's available in my area!
Ps to the support person that is about to post a generic response to this message, please don't if you're not going to actually help get me cable.
