New Comcast Scam

Got a call today from "Comcast Xfinity". Stated that they were upgrading comcast boxes. After giving the number of TVs they said they would send a technician with two "state of the art cable boxes". 

Not sure what the scam is. Would they need a "deposit" if I had gone further. Called them thieves and hung up but be aware of a new scam.
