New cable installed, damaged by animal before placed underground

We had a new cable installed on 04/21/2025. The old cable had been chewed by an animal, affecting our internet service. Three days after the cable was installed, a animal has again chewed into the wire. We still not have gotten a date for burying the cable, but I believe this cable needs to be replaced. Please advise.

Hello, @user_lpd0qk thank you for taking time to reach out over Xfinity Forums. You've contacted the right place for assistance to the line addressed, from experience I've had squirrels chew on our lines a few different times and needed to be replaced. If you weren't aware we do have a way to report line issues, following the steps outlined here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/report-an-issue.

From experience, I know it can take up to 14 days for the line to be buried once it has been placed. But with the line being chewed we would definitely want to get this fixed before the bury work is completed. Since I will need to gather some information that we don't want here in our public conversation, to loop in our technician experts. When you have time, please send a direct message.
