New apartment doesn't have Xfinity lines installed to the building.
I signed up for an Xfinity account in person at my local store, and they sent me home with a Wifi modem. I spent days trying to get it to work, and Xfinity helped me schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and help me. When the technician got to my apartment he realized that my entire apartment building doesn't have any Xfinity lines running to it. The technician said they have a box just in front of my neighbors house and that he would put in a request to get the line installed. How long is that going to take, and how can I even be sure he put in the request? Unfortunately, my apartment doesn't have any other option for internet and I am getting a little desperate. Any help is appreciated.

This is mainly customer-to-customer forum. Unfortunately, it may depend on what easement rights there are. Being an apartment complex, they probably cannot just run a line from that nearby box to you. You should contact the apartment complex owner to ask about why they do not have cable wired. Being their property, Comcast may not be allowed to simply add lines per user.
Also big rip on Comcast for not realizing that a building is not wired and yet offering service.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
