Need to speak to a representative about changing to unlimited data for this month only

Hi, the chat feature will not connect me to a service rep due to a "service outage in my area", there is no outage that I've seen.  I need to upgrade to unlimited data for this month only, but I have some questions before I do so.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello jacob.w96

Appreciate you taking the time to reach out! What questions did you have about adding the unlimited data?

Hi Thomas,

- I would like to add unlimited data to my internet plan just for the rest of this month.  It sounds like I will be receiving extra equipment if I add the unlimited data (the xFI Gateway?), can I opt out of receiving this?  Or if not, do I just need to return it to an xfinity store after cancelling the unlimited data?

- If I upgrade to unlimited, will it immediately take affect for the month of September?

- Lastly, when will I need to remove the unlimited data to ensure I am not billed for it again for October?  And will I revert back to my normal charges of $70 per month going forward?

Thanks in advance.

Great questions!

1) Awesome, you are able to add the unlimited data in whatever interval you see fit. If you are planning to use for the one month, that is no worries, you will just need to reach back when you are ready to remove. No extra equipment is needed, if you own your modem, the cost is $30, if you lease ours, the cost is $25 per month.

2) Immediately, regardless where you are at in the month data wise, it would cover the whole from start to the finish of that billing cycle.

3) You just need to remove the unlimited data before the next months bill generates, but we are able to easily and backdate the change at whatever point you are at, no worries on that.
