Need internet at second home - there is no coax outlet and no cable from pole to home. Where do I start?
I am a current customer at my primary residence, and I need to set up internet at a second home.
I have a few questions about how I get things done in the correct order etc.
This home has never had internet service:
- there is no cable running from the pole to the home.
- There is no coax outlet in the home.
Do I just purchase the internet plan I want, then make an appointment for the $100 “professional install” and at that appointment they will do a cable drop and install the coax outlet?
- Or, is arranging for the line to be run to the house a separate thing?
Also, I do not live full time at this home and would need the modem/router to be sent to my primary residence
— is that possible or do I need to pick up the equipment at an Xfinity store?
Thank you!

Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

To anyone here looking for help with the same thing, I got a response here w/in an hour I think, and I was helped via DMs and they were amazing!
I didn't start any part of the process before posting here, and they were able to set up everything for me.
I was set up with the internet plan i wanted, an appointment was made for the coax outlet install and temporary cable drop (a permanent drop will be set up later), the tech will be bringing my modem/router with them to the appointment.
