My Xfinity Pedestal Box fried again

Hi,

Last year during a major thunderstorm lightning struck in our neighborhood and fried the Xfinity’s Cisco FST in the Xfinity Pedestal box at the street that goes to my house. Our box was still working then but nothing else was fixing it. When we had a tech come out and look at it they determined that was the reason.

well yesterday there was some really bad storms earlier in the day but after it had cleared up and it was clear sky’s there was a power surge in our area. Our Xfinity gateway is doing all of the same things like last year. We did all the same troubleshooting tips and same outcome where we are still without wifi. I believe based off of the same things that happened last year that the same thing may have happened again due to the power surge.

i believe my home’s Xfinity pedestal’s Cisco FST is fried again. I submitted a ticket to have a tech come out to troubleshoot why my WiFi isn’t working but they won’t be out until 8/21 and I will be without internet for 1 week 4 days by then and I work from home.

please help. I attached pictures of the Xfinity pedestal on my front yard/law near the street and the Cisco FST that’s in it.

Hello sethpjax! I wish we were having a better Friday for you. I'm sorry to read that your services are impacted again after the recent storm. I know how debilitating it can be when our home services are down. I know that the wait has been longer due to the increased appointments, but we do have an awesome option that can help us out without waitlist. Simply text 'Waitlist' to 266278 and if available you will be able to set up a sooner appointment.
I know this is not an ideal situation or a solution to get someone to your home today, but these are the best options that we have at this time since the service is being impacted. If your neighbors are impacted as well please have them reach out to us so that we can run a system check to help report the multiple incidents to our network team to have them send out a maintenance team to investigate.

If you ever have a safety issue you can report those online at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/report-an-issue
