My wifi router reboots frequently and seems to be unusually hot. It is in a good ventilated area. I need a new wifi router.

Lately, I am very annoyed due to the loss of internet connectivity frequently. It happens very often where I can see the router rebooting itself!! When I manually reset recently, I noticed that the router top and sides were unusually hot to touch!!! I have never seen such a thing? I am so annoyed that I am ready to switch from Xfinity to some other ISP. I'd give you a last opportunity to swap the wifi router and see if that helps.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello, @user_3oqt2c we have great options to swap your Comcast equipment which you can do at anytime as a Xfinity customer. You can visit any Xfinity retail store and have that overheating router swapped. Here is our retail store locator link to find the nearest store. The link allows you to even book an appointment and save tons of time.

The second option is that I can work with you to have a new gateway shipped to your home. There is a shipping fee, but we often see promotional codes for free shipping. I would be happy to see if one is available for you. To take this option could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:

1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon

2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)

4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!
