My own modem and Comcast will not allow me to go unlimited, unless I use their modem.

I find this practice to be very unethical if not illegal. I had signed up with a representative through customer service, only a day later to get a message saying I do not qualify for unlimited service. I have tried emailing and calling their call center and each time I am told.. "if I do not use their equipment, I am unable to upgrade to an unlimited plan".

I hope someone can explain why this is. If not, I am contacting my political representative and will start a community letter regarding the practice of forcing consumers to only use comcast equipment.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
