My Internet Keeps Dropping Every 5 minutes or so - I'm told it may be several weeks to resolve the issue
I am extremely concerned about our internet service. I work from home and rely on having a stable connection. Since Wednesday (5/3) I have been experiencing CONSTANT and persistent outages once every 5 minutes or so (the outages last about 1 minute). We had a technician come to our home and replace everything, the lines, the socket, and the modem. But the issue persists. He has since escalated it to a special order. When calling to inquire about the status on my internet, I was told it would be up to 14 days for them to take a look at the issue. That's 2.5 weeks now of constant outages while I'm trying to work. I can't even watch a show on Netflix at this point with how much the internet drops. The worst part of it - there is no way for me to track the issue. I asked for a ticket number and was told they can "see it on their computers" but don't offer me anything else. Ultimately, I'm being asked to sit here, try to work with my internet going out every 5 minutes for a running average of 75-80% internet availability throughout the day, and to worry about how long this is going to go on.
I feel like I have no opportunity to express to the right people how critical it is for me to have access to a stable connection - and it really seems like I'm just being shoved into a waiting line that may or may not result in a resolution. If it's not resolved within those 2 weeks, and I have to wait several more weeks for further investigation, that will be a month or more of being dropped out of work meetings multiple times. While everyone I've spoken to has made an effort to be helpful - ultimately nobody has been able to provide a solution or assure me that the issue is being investigated thoroughly.
After experiencing these outages for several days now - and being told that I may have to wait at least 14 days for them to even look at another potential source of the problem is extremely frustrating and causing a very high level of stress throughout the day.
