Moving to new apartment unit at same address question

Hi,

I just had a question about whether or not I am able to transfer my internet service from my old apartment unit to a new one?

I was wanting to do this without a technician coming out. This is because I noticed that there is a xb7 modem already in the new unit, but I am not sure if it is ready for use. The modem was already at the new unit. I’m pretty tech savvy, but I want to make sure I won’t be causing issues with just taking the coaxial cable from the old modem and plugging it into the new one.

Also, the Xfinity app also says to schedule an appointment with a technician, but I wanted to know if I can get my apartment unit number changed instead, and I can do the rest myself? If not, that’s fine too.
