Moving requires a technician to come set it up, and it’s a week long wait.

I scheduled a move for June 29th and I was expected that I will be able to move modem and connect it in a new place and it will work. but instead the site proposed me to pick a date for a technician to come and the earliest available date was July 6th. Is this really a requirement for a technician to come? can I setup a model on my own? We all have to work from home these days and not having Internet for 1 week is a terrible experience. Please help. I could not find a phone number to reach out Xfinity customer support.

That is a great question @user_ipo6x0 There are many reasons why we would need a professional installation. The main reason I come across most often is that the new location hasn't had Xfinity services within the past 6-12 months or the tap isn't active due to no services at location therefore the self installation is most likely to fail. I would be happy to take a look.
