Moving out. Want to transfer ownership of Xfinity WiFi account/equipment/service to my roommate who is staying put

Hi! As the subject says, I'll be moving out of my current place later this month. I currently own the Xfinity WiFi plan at my house, pay the monthly bill for current service plan, and then my roommates each pay me back for their portion of the WiFi. However, since I'm moving out, I no longer want to be billed for the house's WiFi. Multiple roommates will continue to live at this house, so I want to transfer my current WiFi service plan, billing, and equipment to them so that they can continue to enjoy WiFi without having to replace the already-installed equipment.

I've done a lot of searching online for an easy way to do this, and it seems surprisingly convoluted. The general customer service response to previous people's similar question is as follows:

  • We put in an Account Change Request ticket for you. From there, you get an email with the documentation we need you and the new account holder to fill out. There will be a secure link to upload your documents contained in the email. Once you have that sent back, the team is able to make the change to your account.
  • Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.
  • Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
    • Click "Sign In" if necessary
    • Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
    • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
    • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
    • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
    • Press Enter to send your message

However, I haven't seen a "Direct Message" icon when I sign in, which makes the rest of these steps impossible. I'd appreciate any support on making this transfer in ownership. Thank you in advance.

@user_a4np44 I appreciate you looking into transferring your services to your roommates name. I would be more than happy to review the ticket that was submitted on your behalf to see what's the status. Please send a direct message by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section.
