Move/transfer mistaken for cancellation
I moved to a new apartment on 9/10 and attempted through the app to complete this process independently. Initially, I was having issues with being able to use my apartment number. I called and spoke to a very helpful customer service who stated my apartment was the only apartment in the building that was not outfitted for service. She explained that it was odd but she would make a phone call to try and figure out a solution. She let me know she would call me with more information the following day. We never received a phone call and I just want to preface by saying I'm not concerned with the lack of communication things happen. I tried once again to try and do it online and the app let me complete the order. I was informed that my current internet was no longer offered and that I could browse other options. I initially had 400 Mbps for $80 and we had the opportunity to upgrade to 1 gig for $50 with 5 year price lock. I was quite excited to learn I could get faster speeds for less money. During the process on the app, when completing my order it said I needed to schedule a tech to come out and install/activate. The earliest appt was for Sept 24.
I plugged in my old router in and realized I had internet confirmed with the app. Since I had internet I used the xfinity assistant to cancel the technician appointment because it wasn't needed. The AI confirmed and everything was going smoothly. The day I cancelled the tech appt was the 17th of sept. September 24 arrives and when my daughter woke up, we realized we had no internet and when I logged into the app it didnt even look like had service. I called into customer support and after an hour of back and forth, we figured out the issue and moved to restore service. The rep said that the $50 1 gig plan for internet was no longer offered, but she could sign us up a plan of $70 for 1 gig. We talked through disagreements with her informing me that the 400mb doesn't exist and I didn't have that initially and that i would need to sign up for what she was offering to restore service in and then I could be sent over to retention or billing to have the plan I originally signed up for. I didn't think this was a very fair option so I eventually ended the call and tried calling again.
The lady I spoke to this time looked through everything that was going on and was sympathetic to my situation. At this point, she said she was going to transfer me over to account services or sales or whatever it was so they could help us reinstate our service for the original offer. She explained she was going to verbally bring him up to speed and also told me that she would make a notation in the account of our conversation. The next gentleman was very helpful, confirmed the original plan and they were going to send us a new router. I was happy to finally be listened to and helped in a fair and reasonable manner.
Today, when logging in I noticed the bill was for 80 dollars. I called and spent 90 minutes explaining the situation to 6 different people with each person just transferring me to another department with no solution.
