Moved out and need to transfer full ownership of my account to roommate

Hello,

I've moved out and was looking through my options including cancelling my plan or transferring ownership of my account. However, I'm still under contract for 20 more months, so I'd prefer not to cancel to avoid early termination fees. Looking through other questions in these forums, it looks likes transferring full ownership of my account to my roommate would be my best option. How can I get this process started?

I live far away from my roommate so is there a way to do this online since we can't go to the store together?

Also, does transferring ownership guarantee that I'll be fully removed from the account/contract such that I will no longer be responsible for payments and that my credit info/score is no longer tied to this account/contract?

Hi there, @user_g7m135 ! I am glad the information you found on our Xfinity Forums has been helpful to you! If you transfer ownership the account itself gets moved into the new person's name. You would no longer be responsible for anything on the account as it would be transferred to the new owner. Your information would be completely removed from the account as well. 

We can set up an Account Change Request ticket to transfer ownership. There is a form that you both would need to fill out and then upload through a secure link that will be emailed to you. You can fill out your portion then scan and send it to your roommate to fill out their portion since you are not near each other. 

Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message
