Move to a new state

If I move to a new state can I bring my current equipment and turn-in/change/upgrade at the new location?  Also, if I have a Comcast land-line phone#, can I keep it in the new state?

Hi @user_f5ad30, thanks for reaching out over Xfinity Forums! Moving can truly be exciting and stressful. Moving to a new state can certainly pose a new challenge. When a customer moves to a different state, we ask that they return the current Comcast rental equipment, and we will provide new equipment at the new address.

In most cases you would not be able to take the phone number from one state to another. This is because the rate center with likely be different. A rate center is a geographical area used to determine the boundaries for local calling, billing, and assigning specific phone numbers, which can encompass multiple area codes. I understand this can be frustrating when you have had the same number for a long time.

Are you ready to start the transfer process? We would be happy to help and answer any further account specific questions you might have.
