Modem overheating?

My modem get too hot and internet keep cutting off
How can i keep my modem cool down & get internet runs normal? Modem get too hot and internet keep cutting off. I have the modem for 3 years +.
The cooling fan is probably malfunctioning. Get them to swap it out for another / latest model.
I'm in Mason/Memphis TN and have that same issue. My modem is lighting up one minute and there's no light the next. Plugging it bac in only works for a while. A tech is suppose to come Saturday to look at it, but you think I can get a new modem sooner?

Hello, @0512vwoods. Thanks for reaching out about your modem. That does sound like it needs to be changed out. You can swap your modem at any of our Xfinity stores at no cost. It is one of the benefits of renting a modem from us. We can also ship them but it takes 2-5 days to reach you. Do you plan to swap that out before your visit to see if that resolves the problem? We are glad to check in here to help with any concerns.
