Modem installation

I'd please need someone to give me written instructions on how to ask an Xfinity technician to help me set up my new Xfinity modem over the phone besides calling the 1-800 number. I use an old smartphone due to my current financial hardships. I've had friends who've had delays in trying to get an Xfinity Customer Service rep on the phone which is the reason for this question.
