Modem can't connect to internet, isn't recognized as a device on new account- still showing on old account

I recently moved and my service was supposed to end at my previous address and begin at the new one where I am currently. My account still has both addresses listed, my old address now says that I just have internet, which it should have no service. My new address is pending activation for my Internet and TV. I have all of my own gear (Arris/Netgear). When I plug in my modem our wifi name showing up as a wifi network to connect to but the internet isn't working, but it cannot find it for my new address nor activate it.
