Mobile Number

Don't have don't want cellphone but yet Xfinity keeps asking for a mobile number and send email messages saying they tried to text me but couldn't or update my account with a mobile number.  Many people, especially seniors don't use or want the expense of cellphones.  But somehow Xfinity doesn't understand that nor do they offer any type of discount for seniors  who have very limited incomes.
