MLB

I am extremely disappointed with Comcast as I purchase the MLB package annually in SE Florida to watch Phillies Baseball. I understand the dumb situation with Bally Sports but, why am I not able to view games with the Marlins in my MLB package. Also I believe I should get a much larger reduction for that reason

Diamond Sports Group agreement (for Bally Sports) expired April 30, 2024

On April 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), our agreement with Diamond Sports Group (DSG) to carry its regional sports network (RSN) Bally Sports expired. As a result, we are no longer authorized to carry Bally Sports with Xfinity or Comcast Business, including any related programming on Xfinity Stream.

Comcast pays programmers to bring our customers the entertainment, information, and sports they want. We work to negotiate fair terms in order to ensure the greatest value for customers given all the ways content can be accessed today.

We’ve been flexible with DSG, who is in bankruptcy proceedings, but have been unable to reach an agreement that’s fair for our customers.

DSG owns and operates 14 Bally Sports RSN channels nationwide, including:

  • Bally Sports Detroit — Airing games from the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Pistons
  • Bally Sports Florida — Airing games from the Miami Marlins, Florida Panthers, and Orlando Magic
  • Bally Sports Hybrid (IN) — Airing games from the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Indiana Pacers, and Detroit Pistons
  • Bally Sports Midwest MO — Airing games from the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Blues
  • Bally Sports Midwest — Airing games from the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Blues, Indiana Pacers, and Memphis Grizzlies
  • Bally Sports North — Airing games from the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild, and Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Bally Sports (North (Manitowoc, WI) — Airing games from the Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Wild, and Milwaukee Bucks
  • Bally Sports Ohio — Airing games from the Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Bally Sports SoCal — Airing games from the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and LA Clippers
  • Bally Sports South — Airing games from the Atlanta Braves, Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, and New Orleans Pelicans
  • Bally Sports Southeast — Airing games from the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and Memphis Grizzlies
  • Bally Sports Sun — Airing games from the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Miami Heat
  • Bally Sports Southwest — Airing games from the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and Dallas Mavericks
  • Bally Sports West — Airing games from the Los Angeles Angels

FAQs

Where can I continue watching similar programming?
Great sports programming, including NBA, NHL, and MLB national coverage, is still available with Xfinity. Just say “Sports” into your Xfinity Voice Remote to explore your options. You can also press “C” on your Xfinity Voice Remote to go to Sports Zone and see available sports content.

Nationally televised games will continue to be carried by TBS, FOX, CBS, FS1, MAX, ESPN and Apple TV. Check your local listings for upcoming games or contests.

MLB EXTRA INNINGS is not a replacement to view in-market games.

Note: Subscriptions may be required for apps and streaming services.

Where can I continue watching games that were carried by Bally Sports Networks?
DirecTV and Fubo have video plans that include Bally Sports Network. Bally Sports has the streaming rights to carry in-market baseball games in some of their markets. Consult Bally Sports website for availability and pricing.

How do programming agreements work?
We pay networks and station owners for the ability to deliver their programming to our customers. We negotiate agreements to bring our customers the best value for the content they want. For more information, see xfinity.com/howitworks.

Why did you drop DSG-owned programming?
Unfortunately, our programming agreement with DSG has expired. We have made a number of reasonable offers that DSG hasn't accepted. This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks.

Does this mean I no longer have this programming listed above?
Yes, at this time, we aren’t authorized by DSG to carry this programming.

Will you lose any other programming owned by DSG, such as Xfinity Stream content for these channels?
Yes. All related Xfinity Stream content associated with this programmer is no longer available.

What will happen to my scheduled DVR recordings?
Your DVR will not record any new or future programming. However, you can still watch anything you previously recorded.
