Mid Split Availability

Hello there, may I ask how to find out when my address will get a mid split upgrade so that I can get faster upload speed?   It looks that my local area has upgraded mid splits all around me except for my specific address, so just looking for a rough idea, if possible.  Thank you.

Hello doraw880, I completely get where you're coming from, I'm in the same boat eagerly waiting to see the upgrades reach my neighborhood lol. There isn't a way to provide an exact date or rough estimate when your address will be upgraded. Our network teams are working bring our Next Gen speed across our footprint, and when the new speeds are available you'll receive an email notification specifically mentioning the upgrades. Are you using a Xfinity gateway or your own modem?

Thanks for the response. I'm using the Xfinity gateway(xb7).

If https://www.xfinity.com/hub/internet/faster-upload-speeds can be believed:

To check if your specific location is eligible, enter your address here and view your internet speed tier options. If you see the 2000 Mbps (Gigabit x2) speed tier available, congratulations! Your location has access to enhanced speeds.

I have no idea if this is accurate, but it's what Comcast/Xfinity claims.

For faster upload you'll need one of Comcast's newer rental gateways (XB6, XB7, XB8) or one of the few retail devices shown in the "Next Gen Speed Tier" group in the "All Compatible Devices" PDF linked near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices (at the moment that link points to https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2024.09.18%20Full%20List%20of%20Compatible%20Devices.pdf, but this changes from time to time):

  • Hitron Technologies CODA or CODA56
  • Netgear CM2500, CM3000, or CBR750
  • ARRIS/Surfboard G20, G34, G36, G54, or S34
  • Ubiquiti UCI

@BruceW Thanks for the insights. Yes, I've been checking if I can see the 2000 Mbpgs speed tier but so far I haven't seen anything pop up yet. I even chatted with a technician when he came to service our community and he sounded a bit surprise that we still don't have one... We have XB7 with a 2.5G port and I'm currently on the top tier plan to maximize the upload speed.... Xfinity is the only service provider here and fiber is not an option at my address so it's really a bummer that we still don't have mid split deployed even it has been a couple of years since the project was launched...

I’m in Taylor Michigan and I’ll still don’t get mid split.  Other houses in the city get it just not my neighborhood.
