Lost Free Xfinity Flex Box which was never told to return and now they charge you $100+

I am moving and need to cancel the Xfinity plan, they require you to return the Flex box which was free of charge at the beginning and did not tell me to return. They charge you $100+ for something they did not specifically say in the beginning, I did not want the flex box in the first place but they give you anyway.

This sounds quite absurd to me and sounds like a scam. This kind of customer service really is "one of a kind", I've never experienced this with any other internet providers.

@user_4a05a3 Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. I can understand the frustration this has caused. Xfinity Flex is a service that we do not charge a rental fee for the 1st piece of equipment. When you are done using the service the equipment does need to be returned as they can not be used with any other provider. If the equipment is not returned, there is a fee to help cover the cost of replacing the devices.

Thanks for the response.

Then please be specific to point this out when your sales are sending this device "freely" to you.
If it is a disconnection issue between company policy and sales, try fixing it for customers' sake.

I'm experiencing this right now too. The item was free and there was no mention of ever needing to return it. After no using it for the first year, it was put in the trash. Now, about 6 years later, I'm cancelling my service and they need it returned. smh
