Lost cable and internet after thunderstorm
We lost both Internet and cable yesterday immediately after seeing lightning and hearing a loud thunder boom. We’ve tried troubleshooting everything inside the house and spoke with someone from Xfinity who tried remotely resending a signal but showed there was an error. Our neighbors have Xfinity service, and they have no outages so this does not appear to be a neighborhood outage, and there are no outages reported when we searched on the Xfinity site. I suspect something happened related to the lightning strike. We were told the earliest appointment is Thursday and we’re already on Day 2 of no cable or internet. It is disappointing how long it takes to get assistance and it is a big inconvenience to be without both services which we pay a lot of money for. My wife and I both do work from home, and we are unable to do so at this time.
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We're sorry to hear about the service issues you've been experiencing. As someone who also relies on a stable connection while working from home, I absolutely understand how frustrating and disruptive it can be when your services aren't working as expected.
I see that you have a technician appointment scheduled for Thursday. If you're hoping to be seen sooner, have you had a chance to add yourself to our appointment waitlist? If not, you can join the waitlist by following the instructions here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/appointment-waitlist.
You can also text WAITLIST to 266278 to be notified if an earlier appointment becomes available.
