Hi there @slh1 the email moving over to Yahoo is a real update.
If you want to make sure this is a real email you can check the sender, which should be: xfinity@updates.xfinity.com. Do not click on any links from the email if you are unsure. You’ll see your invitation once your address is ready, in your inbox or when you securely sign in to connect.xfinity.com.
You will only be asked to accept Yahoo’s Terms of Service after you securely sign in at connect.xfinity.com and are redirected to Yahoo’s official website.
Please check out the Identify official emails for the Comcast.net email upgrade to Yahoo Mail article for more details.
If you notice this is not a real email you can report it for spam on our Customer Security Assurance site please.

Unfortunately that is incorrect. Scammers can and do fake their email "From:" addresses. A bad address guarantees that the email is a fake, but a "good" address can mean either:
Just as a "good" number on Caller-ID DOES NOT MEAN the the call is from the number it claims to be (scammers can fake those too), so also an email with a "good" "From:" address DOES NOT MEAN that the email is valid!
"Check the sender" is NOT a valid way to ensure that an email's sender is who it claims to be.
